My Driving Data

The following are my driving habits as captured by the Automatic On-Board Diagnostics device. Using the Automatic device, I track my driving pretty efforlessly. Although the Automatic device does come with its own app and default simple data visualizations, I am seeking to dig deeper in the data in ways they don't do. I will be visualizing:

  1. Hard Brakes: Hard brakes are not only bad for the car's brake pads but also for fuel economy. I will be looking for patterns in my hard braking habits. Am I predisposed to brake more in a certain location, on a certain day, time, etc?
  2. Hard Accelerations: Hard accelerations are the worst on gas mileage. Same as hard brakes, I will find patterns in my hard acceleration habits.
  3. Speeding: Tickets, accidents, and low gas mileage are some of the results of speeding. But for some reason, if you are like me, we forget the speed limit at times. I will find patterns in my speeding habits. Hoping that I am not incriminating myself, but then again this is one of the risks of making public any type personal data.
